It’s Good Friday. The day that changed the world forever. That one thing that got me through the week is I finished my Novena to Our Lady of Good Health, or Our Lady of Vailankanni, in order to pray for an important doctors appointment I had yesterday. Before this novena, I had never heard of her, but after some research, I found a connection with her and my prayer request. I have been sick for a while now, and I had lost a lot of weight because of it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t gain weight. When the topic of hospitalization came up, I was struck with fear and anxiety and motivation. I prayed the novena to be in better health over the next week for my doctor’s appointment, and it worked. I began to gain weight back and was able to eat more.
After starting the novena, I researched more about who Our Lady of Vailankanni is and I began to find connections with her. In her apparitions in India, she appeared with her child and asked for buttermilk from the boy to whom she appeared. She wanted buttermilk to feed her child, and I felt as if this novena brought me closer to her, so she could bring me back to health. I felt like her child and that I was the one she asked for the buttermilk for in order to feed me. In most of the pictures of her, she is shown feeding her child the bowl of milk. If you’re ever struggling or need healing, don’t be intimidated by novenas. They are there for you to help you on your journey!
Have a holy and prayer-filled Good Friday and a blessed and glorious Easter!
